The braids are officially gone! Well, they actually went a little while ago. I do enjoy the versatility of adding extensions and trying out new looks every so often but I’m considering keeping it natural for a little while. I have a lot of layers in my hair so curls hold and last for ages. Say hello to classy, chic Adiyam. For now, she’s here to stay…
Postcards from Berlin
This last photo makes me laugh! The hat and gloves I packed did nothing to keep me warm so I made a stop at a memorabilia shop and bought this little ‘I Love Berlin’ combo :). Honestly, I must be Berlin’s biggest fan. There is something about this city that makes me feel so at home. In reflection, I should have taken more photos but, as you can see, it was just too cold to keep stopping. For those of you planning a trip, definitely check out the museums. I’m a history buff and Berlin has tons to keep you occupied with but the Jewish Museum is, by far, the most moving. A visit to the Reichstag is a must as are the numerous sight / memorial spots around the city. The nightlife is pretty cool; check out the many bars / clubs East Berlin has to offer – that’s the spot! There are tons of great places to let your hair down; Berghain Bar, Watergate, Club Gretchen are places I’d recommend. Aah Berlin, I hope to see you soon.
This photo seems so alien to me. Lately I’ve been wearing nothing but black (a hue that I am currently wearing, as I’m sitting here typing away; shock!) Likewise, although this photo was only taken last January, I feel as though it was a lifetime ago. I’ve been hibernating this winter and really feeling the winter blues. Hopefully the weather over the past few days is an indication of winter (finally) drawing to a close. Roll on spring, and a summer filled with lots of colour.
See photos from the above outfit post here.
It’s been six whole weeks since I last blogged – how absurd! I think it’s time I checked in with you guys…
So what has 2015 brought so far? A new job! I’m not too sure if I mentioned this to you earlier but in January I was due to start a new teaching role. It’s been hectic but all good so no complaints!
Something else that’s new is my fitness regime. Taking a page out of El’s book, I started working out with her trainer and since have seen some real results. My intention isn’t to lose weight; instead, I want to tone up and keep my curves. I like mixing it up and do 4 sessions a week which include a bit of Hot Yoga, running and a whole lot of weight lifting. I’m currently in love with H&M’s sportswear selection. Here’s some pieces I’ve picked out. In the gym, I like keeping things simple, and sport a lot of grey and blacks. Shocking for a colour fanatic like me right?

We’re a little late with our petit rendezvous over 2014. Looking back on it now though, it was such a good year for both of us. Today we simply want to thank you for continuing to follow our journey into bloggersphere. We’re looking forward to keeping you entertained this year, the next and hopefully those that will follow after that.
As always, all the best.
Happy Wednesday guys!
As you can see, I’m keeping it cool, calm and collected today in a simple pair of jeans and tee, matched with a faux fur coat and hat. The pop of colour on my nails are brightening up these grey January days and keeping me smiling for now.

Don’t mind me while I take it back to the 90s with my super long braids….
Originally I wanted to get my hair braided before heading to Berlin last week but I couldn’t find the time, what with all the festivities and all. Anyways, what do you think? I love, love, love them. They are super easy to maintain which means that I might just keep them in forever :). On another note, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Mine consisted of a few workouts and a whole load of lounging about. Me and El headed down to the Barbican yesterday which is always fun. We’re both back at work today after two weeks off. No rest for the wicked!
Enjoy your Monday.
Last week I spent my first New Years abroad in Berlin, a city I fall more and more in love with each time I visit. Me and one of my girls thought it would be fun to head there for four days. Both of us had already been back in 2013 so there was no added pressure of things to do / see. We just soaked up the city which looked even more surreal in the snow, just like a Winter Wonderland. I snapped the above shot on my iPhone 6. It’s probably my favourite shot but I’ll give you more snaps from my proper camera sometime next week.
Just when I was doing so well…! My infatuation with Nikey and, in particular, Air Max Ones has been reignited once again. I got these beauties as a Christmas present from one of my girls. Nice right? My new favourites, let’s just hope I can keep them clean!
With Christmas done and dusted, I’m all about the countdown to New Year. I landed in Berlin this morning, ready to welcome to 2015. With that in mind, I opted for fun, neon orange nails; my favourite. You should see what these look like under a UV light…
Hope you had a lovely festive break

Two weeks ago, we brought you gift ideas for your special beau this Christmas. However, not wanting to leave out the ladies, us included, here are a few stocking fillers that any girl wouldn’t mind receiving this year…

Monday morning, meh!!
How are you guys doing? I hope you had a weekend full of goodness. It was a quiet one for me up until yesterday when me and a bunch of friends checked out Winterville in East London – the cool alternative to Central London’s Winter Wonderland. If you’re thinking of heading down there I suggest you do. The rides and mulled wine left me feeling not short of happy. To protect myself from the cold, I layered up and wore these felt skaters which have become somewhat a guilty pleasure of mine. I bought them about six weeks ago, the same day that I bought these python platforms, although Elena wanted them first. Vowing to check in before wearing them to meet up, we both bought a pair. I’ve lived in them ever since or, I’ll admit, since breaking them in. They were painful at first but fine now. I’ll pair them up for you soon :)

For me, autumn is a time to tone down colours and work with subtleties. This reflects in my choice of daily make up where I’ve swapped my rosy palettes for bronzers, highlighters and strobe creams. Touches of glitter still add a hint of ‘girl’ to my look. My current three make up obsessions are this MAC bronzer and Strobe Cream in addition to Benefit’s Sun Beam. The trick with the strobe cream is to work it into your foundation before applying it to your skin. I like doing this on the back of my hand. Adding body warmth improves the consistency which, in turn, helps ensure that the highlighter is worked into your make up rather than looking as though it’s been plastered on top. Used sporadically, these three products add a soft, dewy glow to my skin tone; perfect for those in need of being sun kissed.

Sun Beam – Benefit
Bronzer – MAC (old, unfortunately)
With celebrities such as Kim Kardashian West publicly endorsing their use of the hair vitamin, Hairfinity, these two tablets have been causing quite a stir. Wanting to see if the results of this product held any truth, I accepted a year long challenge on my birthday (all the easier for remembering) and vowed to stick by taking the supplement, day in day out, with the hope of seeing an improvement in the state of mane. I must admit, my hair in its natural state is pretty good. As a youngster, it was long, healthy and happy (yes happy). So for me, my aim was to get my hair back to its natural state. I’ve never been one to relax my hair but years of straightening along with being a workaholic has not been good. After six months of taking Hairfinity, I must say I’m impressed. My hair is longer but, most importantly, it is healthier. I have less breakage (practically non) and it’s gleaming with shine. So, so far, so good. If you’re thinking of trying it out I really suggest you do. It’s £30 for a bottle which will last you a month and you can buy it on the official Hairfinity website here. I’m sure I’ll be taking these supplements for a long, long time.
