My Stories

Morning, and Happy Monday to you!

I hope you’ve all had a great weekend. It started a little early for me and El with us taking a trip up to Bath Spa on Friday. Good food, great company and a fun, girlie day out; as you can imagine it was total bliss! Since the weekend has been really chilled but I did get a little overexcited when a fairly large parcel from one of my new favourite stores, & Other Stories, arrived. It’s cute right? You can’t see much of the detail but it has side panels embossed with a reptile-like print. And a little hit of chain detail too – yum! I must say, I think this will make a very good replacement for my Longchamp Le Pliage Tote. Adiyam_signature_the_coup

Love this drape dress by H&M. The cut, the colour and the price. At only £14.99 it’s a bargain, I’m so tempted to buy it in every colour…! I snapped it up about 3 weeks ago. It’s gorgeous on. I wore it the other day and the compliments wouldn’t stop rolling in. I’ll dress it up for you soon!

Check out my pink socks trying to make a guest appearance here. Haha! How are you guys doing? It’s Aprils fools day, got any prank ideas? I may play a joke on some of my students today. Whoever said teachers didn’t know how to have fun ey…

Hasn’t the weather been beautiful lately? Saturday was particularly lovely. Having spent the weekend chilling with friends I’ve pulled some photos out of the bank for you, although these shots were only taken last weekend. I picked up this shirt in February. It’s by Swedish brand Monki. I do love the contrast between the mini black and white squares, but the best thing about it is…

The leather collar! Cute right? IMG_4968

Hopefully the warm weather lasts so then both me and El can bring out our summer wardrobes for you. Wouldn’t that be nice?! :)IMG_4957

On a final note, both me and El want to give a special shout out to Mia who listed our blog as one to watch. Thanks Mia! You can read her review here

Good morning Monday. Good morning you!

You probably noticed that I fell short on posting any outfits last week. Juggling copious amounts of work sucked all the creativity out of me. But after spending the weekend with friends, celebrating a good time, I feel like I’m back on form. Woop! Soooo, with that in mind, I thought I’d give you something a little extra special today… *wink wink*

I can’t actually remember the last time I felt compelled to buy a piece without an event in mind. Until I saw this breathtaking piece by Sweden’s new powerhouse designers, Ivy Revel.

When the dons at the Ivy Revel first launched their collection back in summer 2013, this was the dress that stood out to me. Black + backless = hot! The added lace high neck also adds a dynamic twist to this sexy little number.

The first batch sold out instantly so I couldn’t risk not getting my hands on one when an additional few were launched. I ordered it about 2 weeks ago, and was pleasantly surprised by the no-fuss, super fast delivery.

It’s gorgeous. It also does all the talking for you so you can keep additional accessories to a minimum. As to where I will be wearing this saucy little number I haven’t got anywhere particularly in mind. Almost certainly though, I’ll be saving it for that extra special date night!

You have yourself a nice day now.

Houston, we have a problem!

My shoe fetish seems to be getting worse. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware that I had one but lately I can’t seem to get enough of buying shoes. Unintentionally (intentionally?!), recently I’ve bought more types of footwear than I have anything else. It all started with these oversized beauties. My new kicks came not too long after that, and then most recently (like last week!) I got these dreamy heels and flats. I’m not complaining though, I just hope this isn’t getting a tad repetitive for you…

One thing I am annoyed by is that these boots aren’t on H&M’s website. This is the second time this has happened, where I haven’t been able to link you to the actual product. I bought my pair in Oxford Circus the other evening and I’ve seen them in quite a few of the central London branches. Mine are made from genuine leather and were only £40. They have a leather imitation pair on the website for a little less, which you can check out here. The difference between the two however is that the leather pair look A LOT better. I’d personally recommend you making a trip down store!

Wild Zebra

jennings-larrson-swedish-british-zebra-leather-fashion-watcI love a good watch. For me wearing a watch is a must with every outfit. Often they are all too hard to find but I’m seriously lusting after this stunning Larsson and Jennings creation. Aptly named Wild Zebra, this one is part of the limited edition Safari Series. To buy or not to buy…!

An Interview with… Paulina Liffner

Say hello to the Little Liffners; fashions newest and cutest accessory!

Perfect for adding a little character into your daywear, these bags are ‘small in size but big in style.’ They are just so cute! I’m looking forward to purchasing one on my next trip to Sweden, which hopefully will be sometime this winter. Team Coup recently spoke to the lovely Paulina Liffner; mastermind behind these beautiful creations.

Q: Did you have any experience of working in the fashion industry before launching Little Liffners?

Yes. My magazine jobs basically consisted of styling and during my years in PR I have worked closely with many fashion labels which gives quite a lot of insight, so its all different sides to the same coin really.

Q: What was it that made you specialise in designing bags?

I always thought of accessories as the icing on the fashion cake. Also many of my friends and I seemed to have trouble finding beautiful bags in a clean style that didn’t come with a price tag of a two week vacation.

Q: Which sources do you draw inspiration from?

Art exhibitions, street style photos, architecture and cool interiors. Traveling is also a major source of inspiration. I’m a major people watcher, a starer even, haha. I love to make up imaginary life stories for the people I stare at.

Q: What are your favourite fabrics to work with and why?

Leather of course, the possibilities are endless and it’s a natural material that ages well. But I look much forward to working in other exciting materials to like rubber, woven wools and canvas.

Q: If you had to choose 3 words that best described Little Liffner bags, what would they be?

Clean, all round and chic

Q: What has been the highlight of your career in fashion so far?

Taking the leap and starting Little Liffner for sure. But also being a fashion assistant at ELLE Sweden at my first photo shoots was amazing.

Q: What is next for the Little Liffners?

To do the best bags I possibly can and develop the concept of add-ons further with additional shoulder straps, handles, name tags etc.
