Ottoman Hands

Vogues Fashion Night Out helped bring a lot of boutique designs to the forefront of Londons most prominent shopping district – Oxford Street. It was here that I first noticed Ottoman Hands – a Turkish jewellry boutique house. Those behind the Boutique select unique gems and work closely with local, skilled artisans to help refine and retain the beauty of Ottoman gems. Craftying these gems in a unique way, Ottoman Hands aims to create affordable yet one-of-a-kind exclusive pieces. With jewels that are best worn to jazz up everyday outfits, these gems promise to inject rare beauty into any outfit. My favourite pieces are these earrings; they are simplistic yet dazzlingly. I love them! Check out the res of the Ottoman Hands range here.

Meet The Kooples: a brand you are bound to love!

I’d like to introduce those who don’t know, to a massive hit among the young, rock and roll girls and boys to a French brand – The Kooples. This brand has found a quirky niche in the fashion market and introduced a store where new couples, married couples, men and women in civil partnerships who are feeling in sync, can shop and create styles that are in sync also. It’s clever advertising campaign uses real couples who look drop dead stylish in Kooples clothing. In the image above, you are looking at Johan and Mikaela who have been dating for 1 year.

Sharp blazers, crisp shirts, skinny fit trousers and pointy heels, this is Parisian chic at it’s best. And now with over ten stores in London, whats not to love?

Special Delivery: Pull&Bear

This week I have popped into Pull&Bear to check out what’s new. I really love that shop as they do casual better than anyone, even the staple red western shirt has stud detailing that adds that something special, keeping it hip and young. Here is a selection of  items that have arrived in store…and went straight onto my wishlist!

Top row, Fantasy fabric cardigan with studs, £25.99; Studded perfect jacket, £39.99
Second row, printed dress, £29.99; military waist coat, £39.99; red military shirt with studs, £19.99
Accessories, neon tone sports ankle boots, £39.99; studded bag, £29.99; leopard print belt with studs, £7.99

Added to my wardrobe: Autumn Pumps

Two new additions to my shoe collection-absolute must have pumps for this season. Leopard print with velvet toe, I can’t live without, from Oasis (£35) and a Dynamo slipper from Miss Selfridge (£30),  all over studs and small black heat. These two are super versatile, whether its to complement a day outfit, or for an easy relaxed night time look. I am sure pay-per-wear will be totally justified with these pairs!

Boutique Alert: Ministry of Retail

It always seems that the cutest fashion always comes from Asia.  Something about their super fresh take on getting dressed and unlimited imagination, so I am glad to start seeing more of their labels making into the UK. New Look have started stocking  new labels and you can find an occasional Asian brand at Topshop’s label lounge…
However internet is probably still your best source when it comes to finding new designers. Hence I want to share with you a boutique I came across – Ministry of Retail! I know on-line shopping can make you nervous a lot of the time but these guys really put a lot of emphasis on making your experience with them as stress free and exciting as possible. A very neat tool at the top of the page allows you to change currency with just one click (without losing your page load!). They stock over 500 designs, some of them so unique I cannot wait to try them out.
For example look at the white cloak style jacket at the top of the page, £29. Cape sleeves so fierce your arms make a stylish cutting edge look, reminiscent of statement made by Guineth Paltrow, who wore a cape white dress at the Oscars 2012. They have a huge selection of dresses on offer, from structured pieces to relaxed holiday ones, flowing and romantic. Everything comes at very affordable prices, which allows you to pick and mix and try new things. So go on check them out!

It’s in the Bag!

This weekend has been a very good shopping one -I have left with a bargain and a treat! I would like to say that I am a very organised shopper, never buy on impulse and always think about items for a while before going for it. There is no point of owning something that just lives in your closet, every piece deserves to see the day light…or moon night. And it feels just so much better when you spend your money on something that you absolutely love!

These heels were on my mind for a while. I have passed Kurt Geiger shops many many times, seeing them on a shelf, but this weekend I have taken the further step and tried them on. Once I did there was no going back! Unbelievably comfortable pair of heels is a must have, especially when they look so cute! Snake print is super hot for this season so that’s a double whammy, Im a happy girl!

This Aldo bag has reminded me of the time in Rome, this spring, when I stood in front of Valentino boutique, drooling at their new collection. They had a number of studded totes and purses and if you have been reading this blog for a while you know how I feel about studs! Unfortunately with prices from £1600 for a medium sized bag,  there was no way to justify it. But once I saw this one, I couldn’t resist!

Aldo ‘Saurel’ studded detail satchel, £50 and Carvela Kurt Geiger ‘Arietta’ leather and suede heels £45 (originally £110).

Get to Know…Kate Spade

Westfield Store (photo by The Coup)

I get so excited when I get introduced to a new label! That’s exactly what happened when I wondered into a new Kate Spade New York store in Westfield (White City) shopping centre. This boutique is lovely, ambient and all of the products were presented with great style and composition. I must have spent good 20 minutes walking through the shop, constantly stopping, looking and touching every item. From clothes to jewellery, to bags and shoes, you see the trademark Kate Spade’s design being carried through.

It all started in 1993, when Kate Brosnahan Spade set out to design the perfect bag. She created only 6 silhouettes, playing with sleek colour palettes and textures. Everyone fell for that fresh take on the everyday accessory and from then on Kate Spade New York with its graphic approach and trademark became a visually recognisable brand all over the world.

In 2012 you see this brand carry it’s colourful design through handbags and clothing, jewellery, shoes, stationery, eyewear, baby, fragrance, tabletop, bedding and gifts.

At the average price of £200 for a designer bag – it is very good value. You can see one of them being featured in your ‘Work It’ bag post here. Cannot wait to pop in there for another look next time I am in Westfield!

‘Work It’ bags

Everyone needs a good bag to wear to work. Something that will survive getting over packed with things that we say we cant live without, long journeys via public transport and all kinds of weather. This selection includes bags you can trust, that combine style and practicality like no other.
From top left, Edaline by Whyred, 4.500 SEK; The Brooklyn bag by Marc B, £49; South Kensington Dunn by Kate Spade, $528; Citybag with zip from Zara, £99.99.

Summer Knits
With our summer no where in sight, here is a selection of cosy jumpers from the high street. Holey loose knit is light enough for those low 20 degree days and layered over a tee would be warm enough to carry through to the chilly evening. Clockwise from top, River Island grey long sleeve, loose holey jumper, £30; All Saints Cure Pullover, $150; VANESSA BRUNO ATHÉ Denim Loose Knit Sweater, $296 from; Miss Selfrige pink slubby jumper, £37.

As a short girl myself I rarely wear flats, although as I become older I start seeing the appeal of being comfortable over wearing sexy sky-scraping heels. There is quite nothing like slipping into some flats half through a night out. Here is a small selection of evening flats, with a touch of glamour that will do a job of looking good just as well as heels.

Clockwise from top left, Vionnet Embellished suede sandals, Was £630 Now £315 (from; Liquid Kurt Geiger London, Was £160 Now £115; flat jelly sandals from Zara, £49.99; Topshop fabby heart trim sandals, £50.

New in this week: Zara
Zara – one of my all time favourite high street shops, has put out the following items out this week. Loving the tiger clutch (£69.99),  which will be huge for this autumn, (more on animal print, to follow!), nude patents pumps (£39.99) – a wardrobe staple and an animal print scarf (£15.99) to effortlessly brighten up any casual outfit.

There is nothing more comfortable than a good fitting jumpsuit. I know that word scares a lot of people but if it hugs in all the right places it can make you look tall and slim. These printed jumpsuits will look great with a dainty strapless shoe; throw on a slinky single colour blazer and you have a perfect summertime evening cocktails look. So come on, jump into something sexy!

First row,
1. Orchid print, from Miss Selfridge, £52
2. Gestuz ‘Curtus’ jumpsuit, from Farfetch, £100
3. Floral print halter neck jumpsuit, River Island, £30

Second Row,
1. Parrot print jumpsuit by George at Asda, £14
2. Swan print jumpsuit from Topshop, £65
3. Phase Eight swirls jumpsuit, £99

I WANT: Holographic Purse

Proenza Schouler Resort 2013 leather bag.
Oh my oh my…

The holographic accessories also feature in Stella McCartney’s Resort 2013 collection.
I am hoping high street will also pick that infectious trend up!

Celebrities for Fashion

Jameela Jamil has launched her first fashion line AW 2012 for  featuring this lovely maxi dress with a pop of colour. I really love the asymmetric cut on her. Very excited to see the rest of the collection!

The second look is Dannii Minogue in a white lace dress from Project D. I have been a great fan of Project D and find their designs very striking. Even though it’s a little out of budget at the moment, I would still love one day to own a few of their pieces.

Tickle Me Pink
A couple of years ago everyone, including myself, was sporting a pair of feather earrings. As of late I haven’t seen too many people wearing them, but once again they are all over the shops. What I like about feather earrings is that they are quite quirky yet casual, so they can be worn to spruce up most daywear outfits. They also look uber cute on the beach. Next time you hit the high street, pick up a pair to help compliment your summer wardrobe. They are everywhere!
