New Season Shopping

Looks like we are on a steam train heading for Spring! Yay, finally! I cannot wait for the day that I can vacuum pack away all my coats and knits. Spring is a great time to add a few new items to your closet, updating it for the next season. ASOS is my ultimate favourite online store, because they make whole experience smooth and safe. I am definitely guilty of browsing their site a little bit every few days. Here is what you will find in my ‘saved items’…I might just press the order button…

Python Platforms

IMG 6701IMG_6716

Morning beauts! Or should I say afternoon…

Lazy mornings are the best. Me and El had a spinning class last night so following that with a lie in was as expected; dreamy. I’ve finally gotten over the weekend. It ended up being a ping pong and karaoke fest; what a treat! On Sunday, me and El made a trip to Westfield in Stratford. We almost drowned in the sea of swimmers (Christmas shoppers out in October?!) but thankfully I managed to bag these hot boots from H&M for only £25. Bargain! The platform heel makes them uber comfy and I love the subtle python print in suede. I’m thinking an oversized knit, mini skirt and thigh socks would work quite well with these but we’ll see. Hello Winter 2014  – I’m almost ready for you.

Sales Edit

Sales have come to the high street! Don’t you just love a good bargain? I decided to be very organised and check them out before all the good stuff is gone. Here are the items that I have added to my basket.

1. Zara top with necklace 2. Goldie of London gold sequin skirt 3. Topshop chiffon frill sleeve dress 4. Topshop floral one shoulder dress 5. Zara slingback pumps 6. Zara pencil skirt with pleated hem 7. Topshop stipe lace crop dress.

Searching for the perfect dress…

Last weekend was all about finding the perfect evening dress. I have been to every high street store and every boutique in search of something very special.

At Ghost I have tried on a few heavenly silk gowns in pretty nude palletes. They made me feel like a princess, but perhaps had too much of a bridal feel to them.

Madame Boudoir in East London had a stunning black number. Body-con design with a fishtail was definitely sexy, but this time around I am trying really hard NOT to go for black. Unusual for me, I know!

My visit to Boutique LNDN was particularly fruitful, that’s where I tried on most glamorous garments I’ve ever seen. This little shop is situated in East London’s Green lanes, and it hard to miss as the most stunning pieces grace it’s shop’s window. All of the dresses that I have tried on can be tailored to fit and I was definitely spoiled for colours and designs to choose from!evening_dress_search_the_coup_3

I have particularly fell in love with the lemon number from Boutique LNDN, above middle. This pale yellow is very refreshing, design is simple yet the silhouette is bold. It complemented my curvy figure and once fitted right, will be a bomb! I can’t stop thinking about it since… I think I may have found the dress!

Update to follow, have a lovely day everyone!

Vika Gazinskaya & other Stories

& Other Stories have recently paired up with Russian designer Vika Gazinskaya to create a small ready-to-wear collection. Released on May 5th it flew off the shelves!

Enchanting, strong silhouettes, prints with a naive touch been carried through from dresses and coats to shoes and accessories. Vika showed off her creativity with a playful flair, making absolutely stunning pieces available high-street shoppers.

Oh how I wish that this collection didn’t sell out as fast as it did. Vika Gazinskaya’s designs are usually stocked by Net-a-Porter and I would have loved to own a piece or two.

Viva Glam

IMG_5763Evidence of a good weekend! Ah this weekend was so good. For the first time in a while I feel as though I made the most of every single bit of it, starting with dinner and drinks in Camden with El on Friday night. I even managed to squeeze a little shopping in too. The new MAC studio in St Pancras has been dangerous for me, largely because I walk past it about 5 times a week. This Saturday morning I picked up a couple of red lipsticks and nude blushers, including this beautiful shade in the Viva Glam range. This colour was crafted in collaboration with Rihanna and I honestly didn’t think it would be such a good shade. Topped up with its partner lipgloss it’s a dream. So much so that on Saturday night, I changed my whole outfit at the last minute just so I could wear it. Love, love, love!

This Morning…

Iphone_case_floral_rose_paint_the_coupThis quiet Saturday morning I am indulging in a little online shopping. Looking for a new iPhone case, i just can’t decide between these two! Both feature gorgeous hand-painted vintage roses. They remind me of Khokhloma, traditional Russian wood painting, known for vivid flowers. I just can’t help going back to the roots!

Please help me choose! which one do you like best?

Retail Therapy

Happy Friday Team Coup! Hope you are all enjoying your mornings! I am looking forward to this weekend, it will be packed out with fun! Starting off with a chocolate feast at the festival in Islington Business centre, followed by more food at friend’s rooftop BBQ and a Sunday afternoon horse riding lesson.

Last weekend , in contrast, was a relaxing one. On Saturday I have treated myself to a shopping trip to Westfields, White City. I headed straight for their Zara store and came out with these three items.

Black and white patterned coat is in my favourite cut. I find these open front coats so versatile. I’m looking forward to wearing it all spring long.

And how stunning is this white blazer?? I’d like to tell myself it’s something I can’t live without. Feeling very satisfied with my purchases…for now…

Spring Must-Haves

Top of the mornin’ to you all! This weekend I have had a little think and came up with my top 5 must-haves for this spring.

As someone whom takes capsule wardrobe seriously, I don’t ever encourage getting carried away and buying a lot of ‘in trend’ items. You will be much better off investing in one or two pieces that will update look for the new season in a flash.

Here is what I think will make your transition into the spring effortlessly:

Warehouse soft crepe coat, Zara frilly faux leather skirt; Pull & Bear wedges; sunglasses and bag from & Other Stories.

Craving: Wide Brimmed Hats

All eyes were on Saint Laurent when leggy models started to walk down the runway wearing classic wide brim hats for Spring / Summer 2013.

Somehow, when paired with svelte silhouettes of tailored jackets and skinny pants, these hats transformed into something so modern and striking. I haven’t thought about them the same way ever since!

Now that chilly weather is descending on London, I am after something to keep my head warm. But I won’t settle for a knitted number just yet. I gotta find myself the perfect wide brimmed fedora!

The real thing from Saint Laurent will set you back £600… I dont know about you, but I need a high-street alternative. I am loving H&M number as it comes in a small size, which means that my hat wont fly away with the first gust of wind.

Embellished Dress

Embellished dresses are perfect for the Christmas season; you probably will have noticed more of them popping up in shops. I have quite a few embellished pieces in my wardrobe, and the number of them is growing steadily. I love a little glitz and glamour, and embellished garments really do make me feel girly.

Today, I want to share one of my pieces with you. I have so many to chose from, but after much deliberation I’ve chosen…

I wore this dress for my birthday. As there’s a lot going on in the dress, I thought it was best to keep my accessories to a minimum. You might also remember my outfit from this years LFW, where I wore an embellished skirt.

Here are a couple of other cute embellished dresses that have caught my eye. I’m loving the glitz and glamour!

Aztec Mini Dress – Antik Batik

Long Sleeve Embellished Dress –  Miss Selfridge

Added to my closet: Zara pumps

I could not resist purchasing these pumps when I first saw them. Made by Zara and priced at only £30, I have been wearing these classic suede beauties every day since I made my investment, hence the slightly scuffed tips. They also come in maroon, red and grey, and I’m seriously considering buying them in every colour!

Things That Make Me Go ‘Ooh’

It looks like Kurt is also getting involved in this season’s oversize trend. I can just picture how amazing these shoes would look worn with wide leg trousers and an oversize coat or, equally, with a silhouette dress. Such wedge perfection. I love the crisp, white look too!

Boutique Alert: Nasty Gal

Let me introduce you to Nasty Gal. We all know we have a little adventurous side, where we play with fashion and try on risqué pieces. This American boutique caters for the coolest girl in town, who puts on whatever suits her mood. Started as a small ebay store, within five years the store grew to become an international brand for those seeking  great vintage and new pieces, shoes and accessories. The collections are sourced from all over, flea markets or showrooms, I think you will be able to find some truly unique pieces. Looking forward to trying out Nasty Gal myself, let us know what you think!
