Outfit – Too Cool for School

IMG_0861The other day, for an afternoon amble with El in Hampstead, I swapped my staple look of a skirt and pumps for a pair of worn converse and tattered, although new pair of skinnies. Wearing a knit that was two sizes up helped add to that extra slouchy look. Dress down days – gotta love ’em. They get two thumbs up from me.IMG_0856

We took a stroll, did a little bit of shopping and then had a sensible afternoon coffee. In one of the shops (Whistles I think), I saw this gorgeous necklace with an inscription that caught my eye…

IMG_0837“He who holds the key can unlock my heart.”

How quaint; how cute.

Although I can’t exactly say the same for my chucks… oops! Err, I think I need to invest in a new pair sometime soon.

It’s not often that I buy plain pumps. My favourites usually involve some kind of print or at least chain detail across the front. My friend actually bought these before me in a burgundy colour a few months ago but I recently decided to opt for the black pair in this years sales. A classic cut, and I really like the hard-meets-soft incorporation of both suede with a clean looking leather finish. New staple shoe? I think so. Well, perhaps when it gets a little warmer outside…!

Outfit – What a Mock’ery?!

Variety is the spice of life and the best spices always seem to be red. So I’ve decided to spice up my style! Coming out of hiding and being christened for the very first time, the Mocks have finally seen daylight.

What I like to call ‘a sophisticated pair of jelly shoes’, Mocks are made of rubber with its USP being a scented insole (helping to retain their fresh scent). These Mocks are so versatile. They are waterproof, can be worn on the beach, around the pool and can even compliment a casual look as I am demonstrating here.

Every well dressed man should always wear a watch (words from my Mother), which is an accessory no man should go without. With that in mind, today I’m wearing my Jasper Conran black ceramic watch, accompanied by a black shambala bracelet and black studs.

And that’s how I get down.

Outfit for the Office: Pink Peplum & Python

next peplum pink lace topI have to admit that I was looking at this Next lace peplum top for months, having tried it on a few times in the store in both colour combinations (also comes in navy); I have decided to take the plunge and part with £50. And oh my, this has been a very good investment!

next peplum pink lace top topshop midi skirtI absolutely adore the fit and this pale pink colour never fails to illuminate even the most tired face of mine. Paired it with a simple tight fitting midi skirt from Topshop, which is so soft and stretchy, perfect for the whole day of sitting by the desk!

Patiently waiting for the perfect moment to wear ‘Arieta’ heels by Carvela Kurt Geiger and it has finally arrived! Having purchased this pair all the way back in September, I couldn’t wait to create an office look with them.
