It’s been two years plus some since I lasted blogged and my oh my, do I miss it sometimes. I’ve been toying with the idea to pick up the Coup for a while. Like, literally, I’ve spent a whole year thinking over it. Then I considered opening up a second blog. And now, I’m back at square one. So here goes…

Let’s start with the “what happened” first. If I’m being completely honest, life happened. I finally, after years of studying for it, began my career as a History teacher which, as you can imagine, is pretty time consuming. I’d been working in education for years but no role in a school compares to being the actual classroom teacher. And then, surprise surprise, in between planning lessons, marking books and analysing data, I also found love.

In a nutshell, two wonderfully life-changing things took place and, in the midst of it, blogging took a hit. Totally unplanned of course.  It goes a little like this: you plan to write up a post, you get too busy and miss your own deadline, reschedule it, miss it again and so the cycle continues. After a while, guilt sets in. And doubt of course; that ol’ bastard! “Perhaps I should just stop blogging? Why do I even blog? I can’t think of anything to write about! ARGH!”

For those of you that follow blogs religiously or perhaps even blog yourself, this will not be news to you. Some of the most successful and established blogging entrepreneurs have gone through this. But then you get to this point, two years later, when you’re so consumed with commitments that you wonder where you let all of those little fun quirks and hobbies that made you, you go.

So I’m back. Hopefully our darling El will pop in from time to time and maybe even Mr T: who knows?! But, for now at least, I’m here to stay. And I’m hoping you are too.

Wang X H&M

Alexander Wang X H&M Collaboration a-w swedish designer high street fashion affordable new

We’re a little late on giving you our verdict on the highly anticipated new range. One thing we love about H&M is their effort to make top end designer wear more affordable and accessible to high-street shoppers. Since Wang disclosed that he would be the first American designer to collaborate with the Swedish high-street favourite H&M back in April, everyone has waiting in line to see what themes would be incorporated in the line. With it’s official unveiling having taken place last Thursday it’s seems as though Wang has gone for all out aesthetic sporty with elements of athleticism taking the fore front. Here’s a sneak peak of the range. Now all we have to do is wait for November 6!

Finally, H&M have unveiled who their new collaboration will be with, and it’s none other than Alexander Wang. Wang, who is also the creative director at Balenciaga, confirmed the news last night at music festival Coachella. He’s following in the footsteps of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and most recently Isabel Marant who all have collaborated with the high-street favourite.

Exciting! Roll on November 6

H&M have just announced a new Autumn collaboration with French designer Isabel Marant.  For H&M, Isabel Marant will create a selection of must-have pieces inspired by her signature Parisian chic style. Mixing boho elements with a dash of rock-n-roll, she will also, for the first time, be creating a collection for men.

(I can’t believe I am saying this but)
– we couldn’t be more excited about fall!

Markus Lupfer for Whistles

Markus Lupfer for Whistles is here and live. We couldn’t resist taking a peak on their website at the 14 piece collection. To our surprise we found that this collection was not all about  clothing pieces, but included cute accessories too, all featuring Markus Lupfer’s playful slogans. Our favourite piece-no doubt -these gorgeous silk pyjamas! So perfect for this season, Boxing day ready! I gotta say I am tempted to wear them out too… www.whistles.co.uk

Stefano Pilati – Creative Director of Agnona

Breaking news! Stefano Pilati has been appointed as Creative Director of Agnona. A sophisticated women’s ready to wear line, which has been launched in 1953, is all about relaxed glamour and toned down colour palette. Stefano Pilati, the former Yves Saint Laurent creative director will be starting work on January 1st 2013, with first cruise collection out next June. All eyes on Agnona, a a rough diamond that is set out to become a global brand! http://www.agnona.com

Ri Ri for River Island!!

Breaking news, it has just been confirmed that pop sensation Rihanna is set to design her first ever fashion collection with high street favourite River Island. The 24-year-old Bajan beauty, who is known for her edgy, street yet chic style, already has multi platinum albums, blockbuster films and fragrances under her belt. Although we’re going to have to wait until Spring 2013 before RiRi’s range hits stores, I’m pretty confident that it’ll fly off the shelves. It’ll be interesting to see what the range will be like. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait!

Topshop Wedding

Have you heard?! Topshop has rolled out it’s first ever wedding collection by Richard Nicoll. Known for his eye for detail, minimalist shapes and modern styling, these pieces go perfectly with Topshop’s brand, creating a very fashion forward bride. There is something incredibly fresh about this collection as I find majority of wedding dresses to be quite predictable and boring. Especially with high-street lacking real beautiful attire for that special day, I think this will go down a storm!

Have a look at the rest of the collection here
