What I wore to Office Christmas party

Unlike a lot of my colleagues I do love an office christmas party! It’s a perfect time to mingle with your friends, have a few drinks and perhaps talk to new faces that you’ve never had a chance to speak to. This year we had our Christmas get-together in a pub by Tower Bridge, so perhaps i was a little over dressed, but hey, it’s that time of year when you can get away with it!

My Zara TRF dress with layered skirt is still available online, but now only in navy, which i think still makes it a banger of a dress!

3 Ways to Wear: Zara Pajama Print suit (part 1)

1_coup_zara_pajama_suit_floral_outfitThis week I will be doing a ‘how to’ trilogy on how to wear these Zara separates. Today I am going to start with how it was initially intended – to be worn together.

I have to admit that I’ve had this Zara suit combo in my wardrobe since February before I braved wearing it last week. And I cannot believe I have left it this long! I love the fit and the feel of the fabric.

3_coup_zara_pajama_suit_floral_outfit.jpgThis Japanese flower print couldn’t be more on trend for this Fall, worn with big crystal chandelier earrings it’s reminiscent of 1920’s ‘lounging’ ladies.

Zara’s Look Book – December 2012

Could they have got it any more right? Im loving the monochrome theme that Zara have incorporated into this Decembers look-book. They have quite a few standout pieces, but I can really imagine myself wearing these ones below. Check out the shoes! How cute are they?!

This Week: Spot On! Kristen Stewart in Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière or Marion Cotillard in Christion Dior?

For ‘This Weeks; Spot On’ look, we are torn between two very simple, yet effective monochrome looks. Marion Cotillard and Kristen Stewart both wowed the red carpet at the screenings of their new movies during the AFI Fest in Hollywood. Firstly, I’d like to credit actress Kristen Stewart for her dedication to Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière. She wore a stunning jumpsuit, paired with Louboutin heels and vampy, red lips; a masculine yet sultry look for the young actress. On the other hand though, Marion Cotillard was a vision of pure femininity. Wearing a Christian Dior halter neck dress with a draped skirt, centred split and pockets seemed like a slightly more playful choice for Marion, but the result worked well and showed off all her best assets. Beautiful!Image source: http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com

Mirror Mirror: London Fashion Weekend

As girls behind The Coup, we’ve decided to share what we wore to London Fashion Weekend with you. Here goes!

With so many ‘hot’ trends around this fall, we thought that it was best to hit Westfield Shopping Centre and let the shops inspire our look for London Fashion Weekend. Zara, Pull and Bear, Mango; there were so many shops to choose from, but in the end I had to go for this ‘Casual Luxe’ combo that I put together in Topshop.

I dolled up my comfy, casual knit with this heavily embellished sequinned skirt.  As there was quite a bit going on with the sequins, it was only right that I neutralised my look with a pair of nude coloured stiletto heels. My jewellery was a concoction of Swarovski crystals, Gucci, Links of London and beautiful beads, straight from India. Chic, comfy yet luxurious; how could I resist?

Items: Knitted Rib Clean Jumper, £38; Silver Sequin Mini Skirt, £45; Romelia, £70; Gerke, £40; Swarovski Tennis Bracelet, £98; Gucci Bracelet with Boule Chain, £125; Gucci Necklace with Boule Chain and Toggle Closure, £170 Swarovski Ring – old.

As one who loves black, it’s no surprise that it was the first colour I reached for when choosing my outfit. So, for an afternoon at Somerset House I centered my look around my Oasis faux leather mini skirt. I paired it with a black satin vest, long waterfall coat from River Island and accessorized with gorgeous leopard pumps and a matching mini messenger bag. As for jewellery, I kept it minimal with a gold bangle and one gold ring. With red lips and nails to match –  it was classic shade for a classic style! It was simple look but the difference in textures is what made it work for me.

Items: Oasis faux leather ‘Harper’ flippy skirt, £40Oasis vest, £20Zara animal print medium heels, £49.99Zara mini fake fur messanger bag, £29.99; H&M bangle, similar one here, £4.99; Gold ring- vintage.

This Week: Spot On! Jessica Alba at Ralph Lauren SS2013 show

Jessica Alba has really brightened up Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Among all front row attendees wearing autumn palettes, Jessica Alba stood out in a girlie bold yellow plait skirt by Ralph Lauren. She has paired this prom piece with t-bar patent heels and ballet scoop neck top. On the way out she popped on a studded biker jacket to add a bit of urban edge to this sweet doll look. We love!

Get the New York Fashion Week look: Olivia Palermo

Ah the season of fashion weeks, where what we see on the street is almost as important as creations on the runway. Fashion photographers scout the arrivals for the most stylish, interesting looks and all the bloggers are posting plethora of street looks. One memorable look for me from New York Fashion Week has to be Olivia Palermo attending Rachel Zoe Spring Summer 2013 fashion show. A very simple, casual ensemble spiced up by strappy snakeskin shoes and a patent crocodile clutch. Olivia as always gets the mix of textures just right for it to look uber relaxed but sexy at the same time. I have put a little selection of items that will help any of us achieve this. The jacket: New Look khaki ponte blazer, £15.99. The t-shirt: Mango wrapped sleeves t-shirt, £19.99. The skirt: Rick Owens ‘Lilies’wrap effect  skirt, £235. The shoe: Alexandre Birman ‘Stella’ sandal, $517. The belt: ASOS Metal Keeper Super Skinny Waist Belt, £6. The clutch: Mundi crocodile clutch, $38.
