Gosh, I’m so thankful it’s the weekend. It’s been a long week this one. With how busy my life is, it feels as though my days turn in to weeks in the blink of an eye. Work; uni; blogging: everything is a constant rush from one place to another. But, if I’m honest, I do love the hustle and bustle. One thing is for sure, it means that when it’s time to play (in other words, the weekend), I can let my hair down that little bit more…
For me, dressing up is always the best part about going out. Whilst planning my outfit questions I always ask myself include: What look do I want to achieve? How will I make it unique to me? Will I feel comfortable? Will I feel confident? For me, these are the four most important things. Image, individuality, comfort and confidence. Below is a little outfit idea I’ve just put together. All these pieces are in my wardrobe and I’m looking forward to trying out this look sometime soon. Two words that describe it best: modern classic. Together these pieces look timeless.
Have a great weekend team x

Could they have got it any more right? Im loving the monochrome theme that Zara have incorporated into this Decembers look-book. They have quite a few standout pieces, but I can really imagine myself wearing these ones below. Check out the shoes! How cute are they?!

The much anticipated Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins is here and it’s flying off the shelves. As expected you will find tons of curve hugging, asset accentuating pieces, that you can mix and match. Bold colours, faux leather leggings sexy key-hole dresses, and of course not forgetting their beloved animal print, this collections screams Kardashian sisters! Below are our edit of the favourite pieces, and you can see the full collection here. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are at the Westfields White City mall as we speak, ready to launch their collection. For ‘This Weeks; Spot On’ look, we are torn between two very simple, yet effective monochrome looks. Marion Cotillard and Kristen Stewart both wowed the red carpet at the screenings of their new movies during the AFI Fest in Hollywood. Firstly, I’d like to credit actress Kristen Stewart for her dedication to Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière. She wore a stunning jumpsuit, paired with Louboutin heels and vampy, red lips; a masculine yet sultry look for the young actress. On the other hand though, Marion Cotillard was a vision of pure femininity. Wearing a Christian Dior halter neck dress with a draped skirt, centred split and pockets seemed like a slightly more playful choice for Marion, but the result worked well and showed off all her best assets. Embellished dresses are perfect for the Christmas season; you probably will have noticed more of them popping up in shops. I have quite a few embellished pieces in my wardrobe, and the number of them is growing steadily. I love a little glitz and glamour, and embellished garments really do make me feel girly.
Today, I want to share one of my pieces with you. I have so many to chose from, but after much deliberation I’ve chosen…
I wore this dress for my birthday. As there’s a lot going on in the dress, I thought it was best to keep my accessories to a minimum. You might also remember my outfit from this years LFW, where I wore an embellished skirt.
Here are a couple of other cute embellished dresses that have caught my eye. I’m loving the glitz and glamour!

Stephanie Dress – Jones & Jones
Aztec Mini Dress – Antik Batik
Long Sleeve Embellished Dress – Miss Selfridge
It looks like Kurt is also getting involved in this season’s oversize trend. I can just picture how amazing these shoes would look worn with wide leg trousers and an oversize coat or, equally, with a silhouette dress. Such wedge perfection. I love the crisp, white look too!

Most girls I know are pretty scared of sporting oversized items and I don’t exactly find this shocking. So I’m pretty sure that like me you’re feeling a little thankfully for the rise of the oversize this fall.

If I had to chose three words that best illustrated what ‘oversized fashion’ is all about, I’d chose big, bold and bossy. To help maintain that trendy look this fall, I really do suggest that this is the one trend you don’t ignore! For one, it’s really comfortable, looks fierce and, bonus,it’ll keep you warm. We’re not just talking about clothes here to; ‘oversize’ is taking over scarfs, jewellry and bags too.
Choosing the right items to pair your oversize garments will help accentuate your look. A word of advice; always think opposite. Oversize trousers & fitted top. Oversized top & either a pencil skirt or tailored trousers (ankle trousers too!). You get the idea. Remember, what you want to do is compliment the other section. Now go on, try something new today.

Gucci and L’Wren Scott looks from Fall 2012 collections.
You have probably already noticed – Velvet is back! Making a first appearance since 2010, now we have another opportunity to purchase a few items made from this luxurious and sumptuous material. It is fair to say that velvet will be a valuable addition to your closet. You have probably seen your mother and your grandmother whipping out their velvets every now and again and those pieces never losing their charm and ‘wow’ factor.
Velvet makes me think of Playboy mansion, a royalty on a trip to Monaco and a Gucci girl. Speaking of which, Kim Kardashian, who made a jaw dropping appearance last week at a the Midori Makeover Parlour in L.A. wore a stunning emerald green Gucci from their Fall Winter 2012 collection, same as the navy version above. Gucci does velvet very well, but for those who have no means to go designer, I have also found a few perfect items from the high street that are bound to satisfy all your velvet cravings!
From left to right, Zara vamp shoe with velvet heel, £19.99; Red velvet blazer from River Island, £35; Topshop’s velvet shorts, £32; Juicy Couture bow front velvet bag, £56 (on sale, from outnet.com); Gucci long velvet dress; Velvet tapered pants By Malene Birker, £190; T by Alexander Wang maxi skirt, £112 (sale, from outnet.com); H&M heels, £29.99.
I love Whistles for their urban cool with a touch of elegance, so I could not resist peeking at what’s new in store this September! I am loving their ‘Carrie’ skirt, very subtly names after a certain character living in NYC; Whistles animal spot crinkled scarf is too cute, deep red Mai Tai courts are a staple for this Autumn! And don’t miss the oversized coat, it’s is bang on trend, we will tell you more about this next week! Hope you enjoy this edit of my favourite items.
Clockwise from top left, Alice curved hem sweater, £85; ‘Carmen’ oversized contrast coat, £350; Animal spot crinkle scarf, £45; ‘Carrie’ pleated skirt, £110; Julep shoes, £95 and Mai Tai red suede court, £125.

Emmys 2012 took place earlier this week and there was so much colour on the red carpet this year. Gunmetal definitely stole the show and became an emerging hot trend amongst all of the arrivals. These three ladies have hit all the right notes with their sparkly gowns. Kerry Washington in a gown by Vivienne Westwood has embraced hollywood glamour, Lucy Liu took a futuristic approach in an Atelier Versace dress and Jane Krakowski looked very bejewelled in Kaufmanfranco.
