Bodysuit One; Bodysuit Two Miss Selfridge

Lately I’ve been feeling uninspired by what I am seeing on the high street. I went shopping last Monday and nothing, literally nothing, jumped out at me. Annoyingly! I’ve bought bodysuit number one though, the one with the thin straps which looks a little saucy on (iPhone snap below). I’m looking forward to dressing this up with either a skirt and heels or some denim for a casual look  :)

Six weeks later…

Fitness HM The coup Fashion blog london adiyam elena 2015

It’s been six whole weeks since I last blogged – how absurd! I think it’s time I checked in with you guys…

So what has 2015 brought so far? A new job! I’m not too sure if I mentioned this to you earlier but in January I was due to start a new teaching role. It’s been hectic but all good so no complaints!

Something else that’s new is my fitness regime. Taking a page out of El’s book, I started working out with her trainer and since have seen some real results. My intention isn’t to lose weight; instead, I want to tone up and keep my curves. I like mixing it up and do 4 sessions a week which include a bit of Hot Yoga, running and a whole lot of weight lifting. I’m currently in love with H&M’s sportswear selection. Here’s some pieces I’ve picked out. In the gym, I like keeping things simple, and sport a lot of grey and blacks. Shocking for a colour fanatic like me right?

We’re a little late with our petit rendezvous over 2014. Looking back on it now though, it was such a good year for both of us. Today we simply want to thank you for continuing to follow our journey into bloggersphere. We’re looking forward to keeping you entertained this year, the next and hopefully those that will follow after that.

As always, all the best.

What I wore to Office Christmas party

Unlike a lot of my colleagues I do love an office christmas party! It’s a perfect time to mingle with your friends, have a few drinks and perhaps talk to new faces that you’ve never had a chance to speak to. This year we had our Christmas get-together in a pub by Tower Bridge, so perhaps i was a little over dressed, but hey, it’s that time of year when you can get away with it!

My Zara TRF dress with layered skirt is still available online, but now only in navy, which i think still makes it a banger of a dress!

Outfits in transit

I’m off to Switzerland tomorrow for two days. Literally a flying visit; I’ll be back home on Sunday evening.  This time I’m much more excited as there’s a whole heap of fun and good company waiting for my arrival. When I lasted visited back in July it was sunny skies and birds tweeting. What with tomorrow being the first of November I’m expecting it to be straight up cold! I’ve decided to play it smart and prep a few outfits; a skill I like to think I have mastered over the years. I already showed you what I’m wearing on Saturday in this post. Clearly I’m planning on the defying the weather… haha! In transit, I’ll be keeping it pretty snug and standard in…

Happy Wednesday!

So glad it’s the middle of the week; it means we’re getting closer to all important Friday! I’ve decided to throw a night of ping pong this coming Saturday at good ol’ Bounce in Central London to commemorate finishing uni. Should be fun! Not that I am planning on wearing the above outfit there of course! Imagine that?! No, no, no! But I did order this dress from River Island last night and I’m thinking of wearing it next weekend. I’m going to Switzerland again just for two days for a night out. Loving the improvisation on the top half of this dress – it should work quite nicely for a hard-meets-soft transitional look that’s not too dressy nor casual. I’ll keep it dressy with some saucy stilettos but play it down with an open, slightly oversized bomber jacket. And make-up, I’m going to go for a more flawless look by using a range of bronzers, gloss and illuminators rather than something heavy. Let’s hope I don’t start singing ‘I woke up like this!’ Haaaa, we’ll see how this works! Have a great day beauts!

Happy Monday!!

A fitted top, structured skirt and minimalistic heels – sometimes you’ve just got to keep it classic and clean. The drop in the temperature has encouraged me to play with texture instead of colour. So today, I’m keeping it simple with a little black number. Couldn’t resist a hint of colour though, hence the nails. Bisous beauts, have a great day!

Morning team. Happy Thursday!

The irony of these preppy schoolgirl photos is that… I have finally finished my studies!! I’ve spent the past two years juggling a lot of important things and my masters was one of them. For me, Summer was a time to knuckle down. Last Monday, however, marked my emancipation and since I have been spending my time enjoying being a normal twenty-six year old. And it feels good! Now, I’m looking forward to indulging in all of my hobbies, with Team Coup number one on my list.Adiyam_signature_the_coup

Is it a cape or is it a blanket?

printed_cape_the_coup

I bought my first cape last winter from Oasis, its black and its soft. and I have worn it to death since then! This winter its all about printed capes, following Burberry’s lead when they debuted a ‘blanked’ coat. Is it a cape or is it a blanked? Could be both and I am a massive fan! I love the idea of throwing it on and not having to worry about the fit or feeling like a stuffed sausage with all the other layers.

Just wrap yourself in softest wool and face the cold autumn day. Here are a few that caught my eye on British high street.

TBT – September ’13

IMG_1513IMG_1506IMG_1557 1IMG_1464It’s crazy to think that our blog, The Coup, has been up and running for two years. I remember the very first day that El told me about her idea: I asked if she wouldn’t mind me getting involved. Just how fast time flies by really is a wonder, especially as you get older. Bar being able to pin your ideas, share them with others and receiving warming emails, the best thing about running a blog has to be the nostalgic feeling one gets as you trawl through your history. I took these photos last September and have tons from this shoot that I hadn’t shared with you. Here are a few extra shots that I like. And ooh that jacket is still one of my favourites!

Feel free to see the full post here for details of what I was wearing

And Action

Back to Business September aw 2014 fashion blog the coup navy school grey winter

And just like that summer ended…! Well if you live in London then you’ll know that summer ended about a month ago. Me and El have been saying that this is the earliest we’ve ever had to unpack our winter wardrobes. Oh well, I guess we can’t have it all! I’m back at work from Monday so I’m planning to invest in some key pieces that’ll see me into the autumn what with September knocking on our doors and all. It’s going to be a cold one this year and we’re both preparing our wardrobes for it as of now. This autumn/winter I’m all about clean cuts, dark tones and, strong silhouette, like this outfit I’ve thrown together for you above.I’ve always considered navy and grey to be a bit of a winning combination. Polo necks are a staple for me every winter and last year I lived in them. You might remember this outfit here. With that said Autumn I think I’m ready for you!

Geneva Bound

Geneva BoundFinally, this weekend has arrived! We (me and my siblings) booked our trip back in January. A good family friend of ours is getting married so we’ve decided to make a flying visit. When travelling I enjoy keeping things light, hence the sexy/casual double denim look above which is what I’m currently wearing. With 28 degrees heat waiting for us as soon as we land, the shorts are a must as are the Toms. I’ll try grab some snaps for you over the weekend. You have a good one too!

Boxy Tops

I’ve never been one for buying the same thing in multiple colours but I’ll admit to owning these sweatshirts in all three of the colours above. I just love the way they cling to your body in all the right places and hang on all the others. They are totally perfect for tucking them into a cute pencil skirt. I do prefer leaving them loose however, and creating ethereal silhouettes as I’m moving to and fro. I’ve added to some additional items here to show you how I would pair them. You would have already seen the monochrome pairing here, but with a different skirt. You may see another pairing soon…! Well done Topshop, you’ve outdone yourself. These tops get not one, but two ticks from me.

Tops available here: pinkmonochrome and, my personal favourite, orange

Additional items available here: super ripped jeans, leather biker mini, monochrome gingham tube, Nikey’sgecko leather court shoes, clear clutch bag

Outfit Inspiration – NYE

I’m finding dressing for NYE this year to be tricky business. It’s not that I find it hard to pick outfits and string new pieces together (shock!). No, it’s more the lack of plans that are affecting my decision making. Me and some friends will be starting at a house party (fun!) and then, after the clock strikes 12, we’ll be heading out elsewhere; either to another house party or some bars. Who knows?!

So, how do you dress for something when you don’t really what the plan is? Usually, by this time, I know exactly what I’m wearing (a little OCD perhaps?). I don’t want to be over dress but turning up under dressed is ten times worse. I’ve just ordered some bits online, here they are for you. I’m thinking of wearing this oversized crinkled shirt, either tucked into the skirt and buttoned up to the top, with the brooch at the collar or loosely with some buttons undone. I’ll try it all on for you and shoot some photos if I end up running with this. Hopefully it looks good!
