Monday morning, meh!!
How are you guys doing? I hope you had a weekend full of goodness. It was a quiet one for me up until yesterday when me and a bunch of friends checked out Winterville in East London – the cool alternative to Central London’s Winter Wonderland. If you’re thinking of heading down there I suggest you do. The rides and mulled wine left me feeling not short of happy. To protect myself from the cold, I layered up and wore these felt skaters which have become somewhat a guilty pleasure of mine. I bought them about six weeks ago, the same day that I bought these python platforms, although Elena wanted them first. Vowing to check in before wearing them to meet up, we both bought a pair. I’ve lived in them ever since or, I’ll admit, since breaking them in. They were painful at first but fine now. I’ll pair them up for you soon :)

Morning beauts! Or should I say afternoon…
Lazy mornings are the best. Me and El had a spinning class last night so following that with a lie in was as expected; dreamy. I’ve finally gotten over the weekend. It ended up being a ping pong and karaoke fest; what a treat! On Sunday, me and El made a trip to Westfield in Stratford. We almost drowned in the sea of swimmers (Christmas shoppers out in October?!) but thankfully I managed to bag these hot boots from H&M for only £25. Bargain! The platform heel makes them uber comfy and I love the subtle python print in suede. I’m thinking an oversized knit, mini skirt and thigh socks would work quite well with these but we’ll see. Hello Winter 2014 – I’m almost ready for you.

If you could only buy one thing this season, what would it be?
For me it has to be a versatile coat that I can wear everyday and with absolutely anything. And a few days ago I found one!
Zara coat with fur lapel and patch pockets
This colour is a dream cream – goes with anything and gives my complexion a boost. Since I already have a black coat for the Autumn this is a good alternative.
Lovely fur lapel is detachable which means I don’t have to wear it until it gets frosty. Perfect coat or what!?
It’s that birthday time again and look what landed in my post box! This is such a beautiful and thoughtful gift from my friend who loves far far away.
A Clare V zip wallet this size is an absolute must have. I adore it’s softest leather with a subtle metallic shimmer and of course my name embossed in gold :)
Merci beaucoup! X
Dress shopping – it’s tricky business. It’s funny because me and El have both been searching high and low for fancy dresses. You’ve already seen El’s selection of dresses here right? Luckily I believe she has found the one, which is absolutely stunning, but I’ll behave and leave that story for El to tell. For now, here’s the dress I’m planning to wear to a wedding I have coming up in July. Its blush colour is uber cute and the lower layers create a beautiful ethereal feel. I’ll have to be extra cautious with the accessories I choose to pair this with. Decisions, decisions; we’ll see what I go with.
Vita Short Dress – Coast
How cute is this bag?! I absolutely love it, and the fringe adds a perfect dose of quirk. The combination of chain and leather detail makes it a lovely transitional piece that I’ll happily be taking in to a/w 2014. El bought it for me as one of the many birthday gifts she gave me last week. I had the most amazing birthday this year. Me and my friends celebrated by having dinner at Stef’s Italian in Oxford Circus (highly recomended!), followed by a few cocktails at the London Cocktail Club. Probably my best birthday yet, I feel so lucky! This weekend me, El and another one of our good friends are going to hop on the Eurostar and take a trip. We decided to book a flying visit to beautiful Paris and our aim is nothing other than to indulge in its quaintness. Naturally photos will follow. For now though, happy Friday!
Fringed messanger bag – Zara
Hi all! Remember my search for perfect patent pumps back in March? Well I can finally say that the search has ended! More precisely ended as soon as I stepped into an Aldo store on Oxford street…
How sexy are these Livergnano pumps? They add an elegant touch to any look. I look forward to dressing them up and dressing them down… wearing all summer around!
I promised I wouldn’t but I really couldn’t resist. A monochrome colour-way with a hint of suede to add a little texture. Classic, I’m game.
Black Sail – Nike
I have finally caved in and got myself a gold necklace. But not just any necklace, a one with a twist! No more agonising over what word best represents you and how you are feeling. With this golden alphabet from H&M, every day you can spell it out.
Today, I am feeling lucky!
What d’ya think of my new trainers? I actually bought these a few weeks ago but you’ve been seeing so much footwear from me (especially trainers, which have become a bit of a guilty pleasure for me) that I thought I’d give you a break. Considerate, that’s me! Lol. Anyways, how fresh are these?! I frigging love them. When I bought them, I was on my way to meet some old friends for dinner. When I looked into the shop display as I walked past Office in central London, these beauts were just sat there casually, smiling at me, waiting someone to show them a little love. I tried to ignore them and carry on walking but when I got a little further down the road I just had to turn around. I tried them on and they just hugged my feet and stuck to them, a little like glue would. Funnily enough when I got to the restaurant about 20 minutes later with my new purchase, I found out that all 5 of my friends were running late. Divine intervention perhaps?! :) I’m looking forward to summer just so I can wear these all.damn.day. Woop!
Have a good day peeps!
Air Max Thea – Nike
Happy Friday Team Coup! Hope you are all enjoying your mornings! I am looking forward to this weekend, it will be packed out with fun! Starting off with a chocolate feast at the festival in Islington Business centre, followed by more food at friend’s rooftop BBQ and a Sunday afternoon horse riding lesson.
Last weekend , in contrast, was a relaxing one. On Saturday I have treated myself to a shopping trip to Westfields, White City. I headed straight for their Zara store and came out with these three items.
Black and white patterned coat is in my favourite cut. I find these open front coats so versatile. I’m looking forward to wearing it all spring long.
A black knit with a sheer back a lovely piece that can make knits sexy for a night out. Leopard trousers – my new staple.
And how stunning is this white blazer?? I’d like to tell myself it’s something I can’t live without. Feeling very satisfied with my purchases…for now…
So, these are the new trainers that everyone seems to be caving into. It’s funny because they aren’t actually new. No, not at all: they were actually all the rage when I was in secondary school, a whole 10 years ago…! But then, as always, the trend disappeared and like clockwise came around again.
They are a little usual in the sense that they aren’t the ‘cutest’ pair of trainers. But hey, what is ‘cute’? And comfort-wise, my oh my! I love them; they’re my new go-to pair when I’m on the run. They are quirky, unusual and admittedly, I do enjoy wearing things that aren’t considered particularly pretty or conventional and convincing people otherwise.
Nike Air Huarache – Office
Finally, here is the outfit that I have promised to show you last week. I wore this look to my mother’s 60th birthday celebration. It was a very special night, so there was a demand for a very special dress. I chose to wear Valentino ribbed lace skirt dress.
A bit of a risqué choice, you would say – a skirt with no lining, but thank god for cleverly positioned panels!
I love it’s bouncy a-line skirt with scalloped hem. The lace itself is absolutely exquisite! I will definitely be wearing this dress for many years from now.
As I have mentioned dress code for the night was ‘cobalt blue’, so I chose complementing accessories. My lovely blue heels are from Dune. They are so comfy, I danced all night! Skinnydip London clutch surely got a lot of attention from everyone that evening.
Now I need another event I can wear this dress to again! P.S. I can never resist doing signature ‘Coup’ jump :)
Valentino dress via Farfetch; Dune Hydro heels; Skinnydip London embellished clutch and Swarowski studs.
Got ’em. And I love them!! I ended up finding a white pair but I really didn’t like them on. So I stuck to these. They are really cute, and make my feet look tiny. Result!
