IMG_02473Happy Friday everyone!

Cat-eye sunglasses have been popping up here, there and everywhere lately! Seems to be everyones favorite shape these days. Since I have a very long oval face cat-eye have always been my go to style for sunnies. I got this cute Kate Spade pair at Bicester village. I am also loving these sunglasses, below, can one have too many?

Outfit – Flowers and Feathers

topshop_feather_blouse_outfit

It feels so good to be back and blogging. Last couple of months have proven to be very busy, but I am happy that I can finally make time for blog, which i love!

topshop_feather_blouse_outfit

So this is what I wore to the office the other day. I absolutely adore this Topshop blouse in flower and feather print. Colours are very  autumnal which makes dressing it, for a colour-phobe like me, quite easy. I paired it with my shaggy H&M waistcoat, Topshop Moto jeans and over the knee boots.

My Best Purchase of the Season

If you could only buy one thing this season, what would it be?

For me it has to be a versatile coat that I can wear everyday and with absolutely anything. And a few days ago I found one!

zara-fur-cream-coat

Zara coat with fur lapel and patch pockets

This colour is a dream cream – goes with anything and gives my complexion a boost. Since I already have a black coat for the Autumn this is a good alternative.

Lovely fur lapel is detachable which means I don’t have to wear it until it gets frosty. Perfect coat or what!?

Fitness First

sports-clothing-the-coup

Turning 28 is no joke, along with all the quirks such as being wiser and having a more refined sense of personal style there comes one aspect that no one warns you about – having to work out HARDER than you have ever done before to keep in shape.

And so I decided to tackle this with full force:

  • gym three times a week
  • running once a week
  • weight lifting sessions with a personal trainer

Being a relative newbie to all this fitness stuff, I thought i’d share with you my tried and tested outfit for exercising, thats comfortable, keeps you cool and looks stylish.

As a huge lover of all things black, I gladly avoid plethora of neons and bright pinks. I don’t believe this should be an exemption to the rule when dressing for the gym.

Mesh panel vest and cropped leggins; Nike free run trainers; H&M lightweight jacket (old)

Zara track sole leather platform heels

zara-track-sole-heels-the-coup-1 zara-track-sole-heels-the-coupMy partner in crime, Adi, has the best taste ever. She got these sexy platform heels for my birthday and I have worn then every single day since then! Don’t let the platform deceive you, they are incredibly comfortable. Soft leather strips wrap around your feet like a hug. They are perfect heels to be jumping over puddles with this autumn. Thanks Adi!

Is it a cape or is it a blanket?

printed_cape_the_coup

I bought my first cape last winter from Oasis, its black and its soft. and I have worn it to death since then! This winter its all about printed capes, following Burberry’s lead when they debuted a ‘blanked’ coat. Is it a cape or is it a blanked? Could be both and I am a massive fan! I love the idea of throwing it on and not having to worry about the fit or feeling like a stuffed sausage with all the other layers.

Just wrap yourself in softest wool and face the cold autumn day. Here are a few that caught my eye on British high street.

Fine Hair – My Top Products

the_coup_hair_careHi all! When it comes to my hair, I have never been a girl who spends hours and hours on styling, nor have I been very good at experimenting with braids, bows and frills.

I was born with very fine hair and not a lot of it, which is why I like to blow dry it fluffy and wear it down, to create an illusion of fullness. Having always loved less is more approach – curling my hair into soft beachy waves is probably the most I ever spend on it.

Here is the guide to my ultimate favourite hair care products:

haircare_2_the_coup_blog

Richard Ward Keratin Styling Spray – sprayed on when hair is damp, followed by the blow dry this gives my hair enough product to style it with ease. I especially love to use it when I am curling my hair as it makes waves hold shape for hours.

Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair BB Beauty Balm – my hair is superfine in texture and I have a lot of fly-away hairs, if I want to wear my hair straight I smooth this balm when hair is damp. This product give it a lovely shine without weighing hair down.

Percy & Reed Finishing Polish – this product works similar to the one to the left, but i like to apply this to tame fly-away hairs when I have finished the blow dry. This is a little heavy, so perfect for windy or damp days that need a bit more hair control.

Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray – sprayed over wet hair this is the master of all volume hairsprays. My hair has never been bigger.

haircare_the_coup_blog

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum – For about two years I have been coloring my hair to achieve that popular ombre look, so you can imagine what all the bleach has done to my ends! Even though my hair texture is fine, I bought this product for ‘medium to coarse hair’, I like how rich this serum feels and sometimes this is exactly the boost of moisture that my dry ends need.

Avlon KeraCare Essential Oils for the hair – this is a similar product to John Frieda but even more intense. It revitalizes chemically processed hair. I like to apply quite a bit to my ends when i don’t mind looking greasy, when i wash this product off my hair gleams with health!

L’oreal Elvive New Extraordinary Oil – this is one product that I use every single day. It is very light and putting too much on is almost impossible. It gives my hair a lovely shine, lightly scented it makes my tresses super soft. I simply cannot live without it!

Packing Light

Morocco_672x240TS121293940Happy Friday everyone!

How are you all doing? It’s been a while since we last blogged, life sometimes gets a little too much. I have decided to take a break and will be going on holiday tomorrow! Destination – Marrakech, Morocco! I have been to Africa a few times, but never up north. I am very excited to immerse myself in Morrocan culture, explore Medina, try my hand at bargaining at the souks and taste their cuisine.

Morocco is a traditional Muslim country. Even though Marrakech is very touristy, when travelling I am always very aware of respecting cultures, so for this holiday I will have my shoulders, chest and knees covered.

I am also looking to do quite a bit of shopping. I want to bring back souvenirs for friends and family as well as a few pieces for my home, so it is absolutely vital I travel light! Here are 5 outfits I have planned for my trip:

outfit_the_coupTravelling in comfort is essential! These harem H&M trousers in loose fit are very soft and comfy, plus my favorite Accessorize bag is big enough for all my in-flight accessories. Top from ASOS; Flip flops also from ASOS.
marrakech_outfit_the_coup

It will be very hot in Morocco, but silk animal print trousers from Zara will keep me nice and cool. This long-line light knit cardigan from H&M will be perfect for covering up when exploring souks.

marrakech_outfit_the_coupZara wise leg trousers in leaf print add a touch of exotic glamour. Accessorize stole with all over diamante is very light and comfortable way to keep shoulders and chest covered. Bag from Aldo.

marrakech_outfit_the_coupMaxi satin skirt from H&M will be my savior from blaring heat.

marrakech_outfit_the_coupI bought this H&M midi dress on sale, you can still get it here.
Have a lovely week everyone!

Outfit: Leopard Print Trousers

I love a great animal print and these leopard trousers from ZARA are exactly what I craved for this summer. I really like the fact that the pattern is a touch darker on the back – working wonders on my behind! But it seems that all trousers cut differently making the gradients appear different on each pair. I have decided to offset the straight trouser cut with black peplum top from ASOS, Bershka heels (old) and a gold ring from NEXT.
